Non-Discrimination & Inclusion Policy
Held & Seen is committed to creating an affirming, respectful, and culturally responsive environment where people can participate in coaching without discrimination, harassment, or degrading treatment.
Effective August 24, 2026
Our Commitment
Held & Seen believes that every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. We are committed to providing coaching services and programs in a manner that supports equity, inclusion, personal agency, and psychological safety.
We do not discriminate in access to our services, programs, or professional interactions based on:
- Race or color
- Ethnicity, ancestry, or national origin
- Sex or gender
- Sexual orientation
- Gender identity or gender expression
- Religion, faith, or spiritual belief
- Age
- Disability
- Marital, relationship, or family status
- Pregnancy or parental status
- HIV status or other health status
- Socioeconomic background
- Veteran status
- Any other characteristic protected by applicable law
LGBTQ+ Affirmation
Held & Seen explicitly affirms lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, nonbinary, gender-diverse, intersex, asexual, and other LGBTQ+ identities.
LGBTQ+ identities are not viewed as problems to be corrected, changed, or explained away. Our work is designed to respect each person's identity, lived experience, relationships, values, boundaries, and right to self-determination.
We respect people's names, pronouns, identities, and descriptions of themselves and their relationships.
Culturally Responsive Practice
We recognize that identity does not exist in isolation. Experiences of race, ethnicity, culture, language, immigration, religion, family, gender, sexuality, disability, socioeconomic background, and other parts of identity can shape how people experience belonging, relationships, stress, and support.
Held & Seen strives to approach these experiences with cultural humility, curiosity, respect, and an awareness of the ways systems, stigma, discrimination, and minority stress can affect people's lives.
Respectful Participation
Harassment, intimidation, discriminatory conduct, hate speech, or degrading treatment directed toward another participant, client, facilitator, or community member is not acceptable within Held & Seen services or programs.
In group settings, participants are expected to engage respectfully with differences in identity, background, experience, and perspective. When harmful conduct occurs, Held & Seen may address the behavior, establish additional boundaries, or take other appropriate steps to protect the integrity and safety of the group.
Accessibility
Held & Seen aims to make virtual coaching services reasonably accessible to participants with different needs. If you require an accommodation to participate in a session or program, you are encouraged to contact us so we can discuss what support may be reasonably available.
Coaching Scope
Held & Seen provides coaching, education, reflection, and structured personal-development support. Coaching is not psychotherapy, psychiatric treatment, medical care, crisis intervention, or a substitute for services provided by a licensed healthcare professional when those services are needed.
This distinction does not change our commitment to treating every client and participant with dignity, respect, and fairness.
Questions or Concerns
If you have a question about this policy, need an accommodation, or believe you experienced conduct that was inconsistent with these commitments, please contact Held & Seen.
Concerns will be taken seriously and reviewed with respect for the privacy and dignity of the people involved.
